This is not just your average food site. It contains up to date nutritional advice, menus and recipes, written by experts in the dietry, medical and hospitality professions for today's lifestyles. We have listened to both the physicians and the hollistic medical practioners (many of whom were at least as academically qualified as their pharmacological counterparts) and tried to present an open minded account of dietry nutrition. This is important because mega-million dollar industries have a stake in marketing treatments and will go to extreme lengths to push their viewpoint, often with total disregard for the patient.
Hard to believe? . . . Then look at the tobacco industry who knew at the turn of the century about the effects of smoking and respiratory ailments, conducted literally hundreds of tests to confirm the relationships and hid the evidence. But don't knock them - the governments also had the same evidence but refused to act because they raked in massive excise taxes. Profit has often clouded the waters when it comes to decision making and the health fraternity. Here we look only at the outcome for the patient, not the corporations.
Special emphasis has been given to diabetes and diet because it quickly became apparent that the numbers of type 2 diabetics out there are far more than most people realise and the incidence rates are rapidly rising!

As we did our research on nutrition, the same facts kept surfacing:
Over 80% of the products in todays supermarket shelves actually contain little or no nutrition by the time we subtract the negatives, like artificial flavourings, colours, sweetners, aerators, presertives and stabilizers.
Many food additives are very toxic or carcinogenic but are allowed by law, on the assumption that they will be eaten in such tiny amounts.
