This is not just another recipe site.

Like Mimenta's Art website, it is full of information as well as recipes. The information is backed by people in the hospitality, reseach and medical professions and is presented in an unbiased way that takes into account the views of the pharmaceutical industry, western medicine, the scientific community and holistic practitioners.

Some of the articles include:

Dining well on a reduced budget

The days of the affluent 9 to 5 income seem to be vanishing. Wages might be rising but the hours of employment are reducing with the advent of temp work and part time jobs. The overall effect is although we might end up with less money, the buying power is less today than it was in the 1960s and '70s.

Add to this more financial crises this decade, than we had all last century and there's a lot of people out there hurting financially. Families are forced to cut their food bill and for the un-informed, that can mean buying the higher fat and carbohydrate foods, which are often cheaper. In some countries people have become so used to prepared and processed foods that they have forgotten how to cook many 'natural' foods, which are usually cheaper and more nutritious.

It's not rocket science - we look at some dishes that are both economical and nutritious. We will cover those forgotten culinary arts, like pickling, making jams, and cooking the cheaper cuts that are often overlooked in the supermarkets but make a great meal.

We also look at using herbs and spices to turn that low cost dish into a gourmet masterpeice.

Nutrition

There's a lot of misinformation out there. The pharmaceutical companies are making billions in treatments and have a financial interest in not publicising the causes or natural equivalents. There's more money made in treatments than prevention, so why should they?

The food manufacturers want you to believe sugar is the biggest contributing factor to diabetes and obesity - it's not and we show you why.

They don't want you to know the toxic side of their chemical foodstuffs and even lobby the FDA to prevent honest labelling of our foods to show carcinogens and other toxins.

The medical profession prescribes drugs to diabetics that prevent weight loss. All our research points to type 2 diabetes (diabetes melitis) being linked to excess weight. In Asia they have alternative treatments.

Healthy Weight Loss

We hear about Obesity being the most common medical condition in the western world.

It's not - it's the whole world , in every developed country!

We look at some of the causes and the misinformation contributing to obesity. It's not just more sugar and fats in the modern diet.

In Internet marketing and the publishing industry, they say the fastest way to make a million dollars is to invent a new diet. Do diets work?

Often diets are aimed at stripping off the fat and many do this well but don't be fooled - it usually goes straight back on again.

Discover the three weight management factors and how to use them for perminant weight control. Anywhere else you would pay for an e-book or a special report. At kitchen Headquarters, it's free!
